Seven sessions aim to inform you, but also to make you practice relaxation and breathing exercises.

They are fully reimbursed by Social Security (within the limits of the rates applied by Medicare) if they are practised by a midwife from the sixth month of pregnancy. Consider having a bottle of water and a snack.

This preparation is not compulsory, but it is highly recommended. Today, 65 to 70% of expectant mothers participate. The interest: to feel at best to welcome the child by being a little less apprehensive on the day of delivery.

Where does this preparation for childbirth take place?

Classic birth preparation sessions are called obstetric psychoprophylaxis (OPP) and are divided into two stages.

Information on childbirth: the first phase is devoted to information on pregnancy, childbirth and the first days with the baby (feeding, calming her crying, caring for the newborn, etc.). Do not hesitate to ask questions about your anxieties, your feelings. The midwife can refer you to a psychologist if you feel the need.

Body exercises: the second step is devoted to body exercises. You learn to relax, to relax, to get to know your body better, to breathe.
